Make a fully wearable pair of shoes in 3 hours with local maker and professor, Anne Cecil of RoxanneLava!
In this course, we’ll start with some pre-cut components. You’ll choose your and cut upper and we’ll fashion your unique design. You’ll learn how to fit and last your upper to the insole. Then you’ll combine the outsole and heel components to complete the bottom. Finally you’ll skive and glue the upper to the bottom, finish your edges and apply pressure to secure the bond.
All materials are included in the price, but if you have some special fabrics/leather/other materials, buckles, old jewelry, etc. you’d like to incorporate bring it along.
I celebrate the imperfections, unique to each hide. I provide leather uppers, insoles, outsoles and heels intentionally sourced to include upcycled furniture off cuts and imperfect hides. Rubber heels and tips extend the life of the shoe.
Vegan options are available. Let me know in advance if you wish to work with vegan materials.
This workshop is great for those who are interested in a basic understanding of shoemaking or would like to try a new hand craft.
