My classic Vintage Black leather, a soft black with a bit of gray. These are SECONDS, meaning they do not meet my strict quality guidelines for products sold at full price.
This pair was made strictly as a size sample and the soling is a full leather sole with cemented construction. Additionally the pull tabs have been cut off.
What's the difference? Typically my outsoles are cemented and stitched for reinforcement, then protected with a Vibram rubber sole protector.
How will this affect the quality and wear? 1. The leather bottom will be more slippery on some surfaces until it gets scuffed up. You can speed this up by moonwalking on concrete ;) Or you can take them to your local cobbler and have a rubber sole protector added for a minimal fee. 2. You will need to have them resoled sooner than usual, compared to outsoles that are stitched. This will depend on how often you are wearing them. I've been wearing a pair with only a cemented outsole for over a year and I wear them a few times a month.
Sizing Note: My men's boots tend to run true to size. Size 43, which translates into a US men's 9/9.5.
