Virtual Sandal Making Workshop: June 6, 2020 (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)
Taking my popular sandal making workshops to the interwebs! Join me and other shoe enthusiasts for a fun, beginner level workshop in the comfort of your own home! Not crafty? No experience? No worries! I've broken this class down into easy steps that every skill level can enjoy.
Each workshop includes up to 3 hours of Zoom instruction in a group setting and your own personal sandal making kit. Each kit includes:
- 1 set of italian leather soles in a medium width - 1 set of precut and preassembled (if applicable) upper straps - 1 french shoemakers hammer with hand-turned wooden handle - 1 can of Renia soling glue, enough for two pairs (this glue is toxic and requires ample ventilation. If you feel uncomfortable using it you can email me and request a non-toxic water based glue, I just can't promise it will hold up as well or a long as traditional sole glue.) - 1 utility knife - Brass clinching tacks - Sole template - 1 handmade duster bag to keep your sandals through season to come - 1 fabric pen to sign your name on the bag, an artist signs their work ;)
HOW IT WORKS:
Selecting your size: My sandal soles run true to size. If you are a half size, size down!
Selecting your leather: After a class fills up, (minimum three students and max of 5) I will email you photos of my leather selections and ask for your choice in sandal style to prep everything for your class.
Making your shoes: Everyone will have a pair of finished sandals at the end of the class, using all the professional materials and techniques I use for my own collection.
Refunds: I do not offer a waitlist and therefore do not offer refunds for cancellations. Although if possible I will try to accommodate fitting you into a different class. If I have to cancel a class I will reschedule or offer a refund.
